Apple, Glazed Walnut, and Gorgonzola Cheese Salad 4 cups Red or green leaf lettuce (can also add in arugula, its a little bitter) ½ Glazed walnuts (found in most supermarkets) 1 Apple (gala and fuji are sweeter and granny smiths are more tangy,) ½ cup Gorgonzola cheese (very similar to blue cheese) Choose a vinaigrette you prefer. Girards make some delicious vinaigrettes. *Portions and some ingredients can be adjusted based on preference. Toasted pine nuts, almonds, or pecans can be substituted for the glazed walnuts. Pears may be used instead of apples, feta or blue cheese can be substituted in for gorgonzola. You can add croutons or raisons. Be creative. Article by Yvonna Liang |
