PlanetPlugged: What interested you in modeling and when did you start? Were you discovered or did you decide to go at it on your own? Assia: I got into it when I was 15 years old. I actually enrolled in classes at a John Casablanca's Modeling Center, but at the time I couldn't afford it. So when I called to tell them that I wouldn't be able to take the classes, they offered me to work off the tuition. So for over a year I would go in three times a week after school and help out with open calls and anything else they needed. It was a really good opportunity for me since not only did the agency give me a chance, but it let me see the industry in a more profound way. PlanetPlugged: What do plan to get out of your modeling career? Assia: I do really want to be able to one day open a catalog and see myself in it, maybe Vogue, but overall I just love being in the spotlight, I love strutting my stuff. PlanetPlugged: Describe a time when you used your intuition to good result in support of a project. Assia: I believe that intuition is something very accurate, however I can't really pinpoint a certain incident. PlanetPlugged: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Assia: Oh god, well I will be done with school by then, but I really would love to internship in France, maybe for Louis Vuitton or Chanel (since I speak French fluently), but I definitely would love to be on a runway somewhere modeling and still be in the industry that I love.
